New Features Of Electric Cars

Have you decided to switch from a traditional gas-powered car to an electric model? Electric motors are more compact than petrol engines. Even designers get the opportunity to incorporate more features into the car. However, there are more reasons for transitioning to electric automobiles from traditional ones. The tech-driven world has encouraged buyers to invest in more advanced vehicles. So, EV companies are trying to add unique features to their vehicles to win the competition. The tech features of electric cars are not just for comfort and luxury. They provide other conveniences for drivers and passengers.

Tech features of electric cars

One-pedal driving

With a single pedal, you will get a different driving experience. Electric motors are not intended to move your EV forward. They will reverse the electron’s flow to generate electricity when the car decelerates. Regenerative braking systems allow you to pilot the EV without touching and using the brake pedal.

After triggering a one-pedal driving system in an electric vehicle, it accelerates the car. The single-pedal driving is adjustable. However, it is user-friendly, and you may use the brake pedal of your vehicle.

One-pedal driving boosts the longevity of the brake. EVs rely on regenerative braking, such as plug-in hybrids. They track the kinetic energy that is lost while braking.

Park assist

Park assist is an innovative system fitted to vehicles and has different sensors. It evaluates the availability of space and parks the car automatically.

Most electric vehicles are now equipped with park assist. But, the operation of this system will vary with cars. You can find a button to trigger the system when the car is on the street or in the park. Sensors start analyzing the space to determine if it can accommodate your vehicle. From Mercedes to Suzuki, different automotive brands have integrated park assist into electric vehicles.

Dog Mode

EV car owners with pet dogs have good news. Your canine friend should feel comfortable during the car ride. When the dog is in the back seat, it heats up within a short period. Your car air conditioner’s cool air does not reach those areas effectively. That is why some EV car brands have introduced a Dog Mode to prevent dogs from overheating issues. The car temperature will be set to a safer level. Your pups will feel comfortable during the journey. Moreover, your dogs will not feel dehydrated if you have chosen the Dog Mode.

Adjusting the speed remotely

As EVs come with electric controls, speed and performance parameters are adjustable. Tesla and some other brands let you preset the top speed. Moreover, this technology allows real-time monitoring of your car’s speed. Novice drivers will find this feature highly beneficial.

EVs with remote speed adjustment features also prevent the risk of theft. With GPS technology, the RTO locates the stolen car. You can set the speed level to 0. This feature will help the police recover the lost car very easily.

Bidirectional charging

Older EVs have charging technologies sending energy in a single direction. The energy moves to the car’s battery from the power source. On the contrary, modern EVs have bidirectional charging to allow the vehicle to transmit the energy usable for other devices.

Bidirectional charging is of different types, and the most common one is the vehicle-to-grid. The charger has a converter, allowing the car to transmit the energy to the grid. Thus, the local power grid will be more energy efficient. The charger owners will receive payment and maintain the reliability of the grid. Bidirectional charging is advantageous to you in various ways. The pairing of bidirectional charging and smart-charging technology converts your vehicle into a highly efficient power source. Your vehicle can be charged during off-peak hours.

Remote starting

Some electric cars work with compatible mobile apps. You can remotely control your car cabin and allow it to cool or heat before sliding back inside. Although petrol cars also have the same functionality, they generate emissions. The closed environment and the absence of ventilation may cause a hazard. But, the remote idle time for some conventional cars is limited. You will not experience the issues with your electric automobile.

Sound acoustic

When you ride a car, you might have experienced that the engine noise hides the noise of traffic and wind. However, noise issues cause the drivers to lose concentration. Passengers also do not feel comfortable. The EV’s inverter generates noise and increases the need for adding more effective sound insulation to the vehicles. The best brands have developed improved acoustic grades to dampen the performance. It has considerably minimized vibration noise when strong wind knocks your glass.

With an acoustic interlayer and windshield, your electric car’s cabin will be more comfortable and quieter. Get a unique experience during your ride.

Solar-powered features of EVs

Some EVs work with rooftop solar systems, and you use the solar power for your vehicle at any time. The optimized battery storage unit will also allow you to power your vehicle. Some public charging stations are also solar-powered and have onsite solar panels. So, you may also look for nearby charging stations to charge your EV with solar energy. Your existing car structure can be fitted to solar modules to have a significant boost to the available electrical system.

If your PV panels generate electricity, there is no need to make a deal with the utility company to refill the tank. So, you will save a lot every year.

As EVs are electrically powered, they reduce carbon impact. To save the environment in a better way, you can rely on the sun’s energy.

Conclusion

You have now learned about the features of electric cars introduced by prominent brands. Not every car has all the features. Still, both the functional and funky features will draw your attention. Some manufacturer are trying to improve the existing features of their EVs.
